Help us transform the lives of youth and families by giving your time.

As stated in our mission, we seek to enable all people, young and old alike, to realize the wholeness of life that God intends by meeting their physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and social needs. To do so, we need the help of volunteers located in the communities we serve.

Available Volunteer Opportunities

We currently offer volunteer opportunities in the following areas:


Receptionist – As a volunteer receptionist at our Fairview Heights location, tasks include greeting guests and carrying out other clerical duties.  

Location: Fairview Heights, IL
Time Requirement: 4 Hours
Date: Anytime during business hours, Monday – Friday
Ideal for:  Adults new to volunteering at Hoyleton with a welcoming personality and desire to help engage our mission.



Recognition Banquet – Volunteer to plan and support our Recognition Banquet. Volunteers will help develop event ideas, make reminder phone calls to invitees,  set up for the event, distribute program guides and name tags, and direct seating.

Time Requirement: 6 hours
Date: TBD
Ideal for:  Adults new to volunteering at Hoyleton with the ability to organize and carry light-weight items, as needed. 

Annual Golf Open – Volunteer to help support our Golf Open.  Volunteers will help make phone calls to follow up from our event mailings, help set up the golf course, and in some cases serve as a course host at one of our “fun” tents!

Location: Tamarack Golf Course
Time Requirement: 8 hours
Date: TBD
Ideal for:  Adults new to volunteering at Hoyleton with the ability to organize and navigate long distances in high temperatures.   



Student Community Service Hours – High school and college students required by clubs and organizations to obtain community service hours can volunteer to achieve requirements in a variety of ways.  Various programs, projects, and general tasks are available on an ongoing or one-time commitment basis.   

Internship Opportunities We have multiple internships available based on areas of study. All internships provide experience with the interworking of a human services organization. 

Mentor/Life Skills Volunteer – Volunteers and Mentors engage a client in activities to provide positive role model behavior and provide emotional support. With various opportunities available to engage the client in daily life to enhance everyday life experiences.

Volunteer Requirements

To volunteer at Hoyleton Youth and Family Services, applicants must:

• Be 21 years of age 

• Complete the application process (background check and clearance through DCFS)  

• Attend a 2-hour orientation to learn about our mission
