Community Outreach

Programs to increase knowledge and create actions that improve our communities
Our Care in the Community programs help youth and adults by providing access to education and life skills resources. From helping youth understand the dangers of substance abuse to creating safe neighborhoods by providing violence prevention and evidence-based mental health courses, these programs are moving communities in a better direction.

SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION

Our substance abuse prevention program offers education to schools, community groups, and organizations in Clinton, Monroe, St. Clair and Washington Counties. This evidence-based program focuses on decision-making practice, anxiety coping skills, and social and communication skills to improve individuals’ self-image and help them make healthier choices.

TEEN PREGNANCY PREVENTION

The Teen Pregnancy Prevention program is an evidence-based program that helps young women age 11 to 17 in the community or living at DCFS therapeutic residential facilities in Central and Southern Illinois develop healthy lifestyle choices.

VIOLENCE PREVENTION

We work to support a network of multi-jurisdiction law enforcement partners to address violent crime. Through our violence prevention programs, law enforcement agencies in Southern Illinois gain additional resources to deal with violence in their communities.
